PostSubject: Mini project 92 Civic Si Resto   Mon Feb 20, 2012 4:35 pm

My dad needed a economical car to get around in. So after some craigslist hunting a capitiva blue si popped up, so we snagged it up! Over all it was a clean car, and it was never molested. The interior is intact and it great shape! Everything works including the pwr steering and A/C! The only thing that was missing from the car was the oem lip. The hood had some rot from the inside out so i got a new one of those. The left fender was twisted, so i replaced that also. The car is from michigan so obviously it had 1/4 rust, so going with the theme i ordered patches. Then the body work started. Started first with the patches, they were a pretty straight forward, cut here weld here, install. At one point in time someone thought it was a good idea to bondo the rust in the 1/4's, and in doing so they modified the rear bumper to fit the drivers 1/4. So yet again another call to the parts supplier and i had a rear bumper, but why sand all the chips out of the front bumper when i can get one for so cheap, so i did. On to the tailgate that i thought just had surface rust, nope it was rotted out around the plate lights! So another phone call and i scored a rust free one off of my friends decomissioned race car. At this point it was time to fix dents and dings, and there were lots of them! We also went ahead and shaved the lisence plate holes of the new front cover. Finally we primed it and painted it! All of the emblems were put back on the 'Civic Si" sticker was replaced. Also replaced was the missing oem front lip, that the honda dealer ship still offers! My dad scored some wheels off of xceed, and i lowered it, and that is how it sits now.............did i mention that all of this was done in two weekends?

But some white 15x8 and 15x10 diamonds would finish it nicely
